Video: Ryan's Park Story
The 'Ryan's Park' story begins with the group home where Ryan Mills has been living for many years. It is not an autism-friendly house and Ryan is expected to fit in with the routine of the home. He does not. Ryan's autism leads to constant triggers in that environment.
My goal as his mother is to provide a barrier-free home that does not render him disabled in his day-to-day interactions. Ryan's Park will be the type of neighbourhood where all community-minded people are invited to live. This development will create a model for community living and sharing.
We are seeking participants on the Autism Spectrum who live in Nova Scotia and are at least 16 years old for a survey about your desires, needs, experiences, and hopes about housing.
After completing the survey, you can enter in a draw for 1 of 5 $100 Sobeys gift cards!
