What is the Supported Housing Summit?

Autism Nova Scotia is pleased to present its 2019 Supported Housing Summit: Imagining Better and Living A Good Life.

The Summit will be broken into 2 days with a broad consultative feedback period between the 2 events. We believe the summit is an opportunity to help ignite a cross-community, collaborative conversation about the future of housing for persons with disabilities.

Events

IDEAS: April 24th—HALIFAX CENTRAL LIBRARY

80-100 invitees from various sectors will attend a day-long facilitated discussion called “IDEAS”: a day-long facilitated discussion that will explore the ideas for how to build housing and related supports, and brainstorm potential solutions.

The day's conversations will be gathered through a captured harvest by a graphic facilitator that will be submitted to the community to inform consultation.

SOLUTIONS: October 18th—ALDERNEY THEATRE

Registered guests will have an opportunity to listen to speakers from across the region and the world speak about innovative and proposed “SOLUTIONS” that could help Nova Scotia meet the challenges of supports in the complex supported housing system.

More importantly, this event will also  unveil the final draft of a Supported Housing White Paper
